JR Hospital Filming

The room that we were filming in the JR Hospital Women's clinic was really easy to move around and get up. It was a simple consultant room, is a quite area of the building. Serap Karakaya, who is my cinematographer for the documentary, came along to help out.

Thank god I went to see Nati as the sound and lights where a saviour.

Both Dr.Price and Sam (the patient0, were brilliant being filmed and they both looked directly into the camera without me really asking them too.

I filmed Sam first as she was then going for her operation and then Dr.Price who was between operation's and had about 15 minutes to spear!

Ive been so nerves these passed few days, and on the day, but after the filming, I was thrilled at how the interviews went.

There were more shots that I wanted to do but because we had limited time, I didn't get many, but the shots I did get thank you to Serap for filming I am very pleased with.

Stressfull and Upsetting

For the pass few days I have been dealing with the media department for John Radcliffe Hospital (JR), Susan Brown. The previous person who I was dealing with left and forgot to notify the department of my filming.

After many emails through yesterday (too many to blog) I got permission to film Dr Price and the patient. Though there is a problem, the department can't sign my location release form and I can't sign there's.

I have a feeling I annoyed Susan with my final email, which is why the next day I received this email above earlier today. Saying that the footage which I film at the JR Hospital is only used for my project and nothing else.

I was really upset and called my mum who was sensible and said just say that's fine and if the documentary is good enough then will do an email to see if they will allowed me to enter it into festivals.

From this email it made me really stressed about filming on Thursday hopefully all will be fine.

Meeting with Alison

This morning I met with Alison to go over the filming for Thursday with the interviews. She asked my about equipment I was using for sound and I said just he Canon XF300 one which is built in.

She was really worried that the quietly of the sound wasn't going to be good enough just from the Canon, and ask if I can get sound equipment from Gov, but he was all booked out with sound for the next few weeks.

Alison gave Nati a call who is the equipment tech in Wheatly which is another Oxford Brookes Campus. Nati very kindly said I can borrow some stuff and to come by tommrrow morning to collect it.

Thank you Nati and Alison.

Realse Forms Feedback

I set the forms I created to Gov and Alison to have a look at, because they have had the experience its really good to get there opinions on the Location and Consent forms that I had drafted up.

They both gave back really good feedback and helpful advise.

Location Relase Form

Above is the Location Release form which I will be getting the the owners of the locations to sign. I will send it to John Radcliffe Hospital, so that they can look it over and get back to me with any problems.

Questions for Dr.Price

Today I pick up some film equipment as on Tuesday 17th November I am filming Natalia Price (Dr Price)

The images attached are the questions that I will be asking Natalia during the interview and the release form that I will get her to sign as her consent and permission to be filmed.

Global Health Film Festival

This weekend that has just gone, I visited the Global health film festival. It was so interesting and I saw many incredible documentary's.

One of the documentaries was called India's Daughter directed by: Leslee Udwin. the documentary is about the rape that happens in India in 2012, and it goes in to full details of what acutely happened to this poor girl.

There were so many more films that I saw, which inspired me so much.
