Sound editing

Some of Professor Becker's sound dips, even though his microphone didnt even move.

Gov told me it was because we had the microphone settings on auto.

So I spent the whole of today sorting out my just Professors Becker sound but all of the sound and music.

Oxford Endometriosis Group

Today I went to the Oxford Endometriosis support group meeting today and it was really interesting as we were just talking about general things to do with endo. But an interesting questions was how do we try and explain to people about our condition, I love going there.

All the women were really nice and will to have there picture so that I can use it in my documentary. We took a few, but this is the one I am going to use. I look so red in it!!
This is the consent form which all the ladies sign on behalf of the Endometriosis UK charity.

Font choseing

Today I sorted out my titles and credits. I used Marion as my font through out Diagnosing E as I felt it was clear to read and work with the flow of the documentary.

DVD Case

I had a bit of time on my hands so I though I would create a DVD case cover, using the poster I have created as the front cover and then adding a bit of a synopsis and my interviewees at the back.

Editing In Process

Editing has been going really well, excepted that my computer keeps on saying that there's and error with my footage every time I try to exported to a quicktime movie to back it up.

I save every 10 minutes, so I just cancelled the exporting and quite Adobe Premiere Pro and when I re-open its completely fine and exports with no problems.

My actual interview

From my practice interview on the 7th January. I knew that I always wanted interview myself in my house, because its were I have spent most of my time and I am confident there. The pictures above are the first one is of me in our living room and the second one is of me in my bedroom.

This was a scripted that I try to follow so that I would stick to my storyboard and questions, but I ended up not really following it and rambled loads.

Frist Edit

Today was the first day that I went to the editing suit to star working on my documentary and getting rough cut together.

It took a while to go over everyone's interview and selecting the scenes that might be used in my rough cut.

Im really happy with everyone interives except mine, which I will be re-doing anyway, but at least I have make a start on editing.

Possible Music

A friend of my got me in touch with a composer friend of hers called Aaron King, who is at Oxford University.

I had a look at his website and really like some of his music, particularly this one called 'Letting Go'

The first 29 second's is the perfect tune for my documentary. So hopefully Aaron would be willing to compose something very similar to it. Without the singing!

Dr. Christian Becker's Interview

Today's Dr Christian Becker's interview went really well. My Friend Gabby came along and help with sound and lighting during his interview.

She was fab!

Dr.Becker was really natural on camera, and I love the positioning of the camera.

We had to re ajusted a bit of the lighting, when he sat down because of the light reflections on his glasses.

The sun came out during filming, so some of the footage that we have is a bit brighter, but its not bad and you can't see any shadow of Dr. Becker.

Dr Becker also signed the consent and relase from. We also talked about posslaby filming a bit in sugary, so will see what happens there.
Thank you.

Practise Run

Yesterday my stress levels were high! But today there much better.

On Tuesday I collected kit from Nati at the Wheatly Campus, which was:

Lighting Kit
Camera Light
Rode Mic
Cannon XF300 Camera
Film Tripod
XLR Cables
Clip on Mics

I went to Headington Hill Hall as I am filming in the Music room tomorrow, and wanted to see if it was free today, so that I could practise and set up ready for Thursday.

Luckily for me it was, so I spent a lot of time run like a yoyo back and forth from seat to camera, to make sure that the positing was correct, lighting and that sound was working.

Once I was happy with everything, I decide to use the time and talk to the camera myself on my experience with Endo. I feel it went really well, though I will reshoot some bits.

This is me inform of the camera, with no make up on. (Forgot!!!)

To the right here is the set up I had today with camera and lights.
