The third picture, I am converting the MXF film footage file to Quicktime movie one so that I am able to send it to my teachers for them to have a look at.

StroyBoard Draft

Above here is a rough story board that I have come up with. (Excuse the pictures), this has really help me to get a much better picture of my documentary. I feel once I written up my treatment, I will be able to create a official storyboard.

Production Calendar

This moning I created my production calendar to help give me an idea on: Film, Deadlines, Research, Meeting and Research.

Through out this project I will be adding to the calendar until I have to submit everything. Below is so far what I have done of the calendar. I still need to add filming dates and a few more editing ones, but apart from that I feel on top of the everything so far!

What is Endometriosis

I feel I haven't explained fully what endometriosis is and how it can effect women. I'm still coming to terms on what it actually is and by making this documentary, I am learning something new each day.

I have created a PowerPoint with some of the research that I have done into Endometriosis.

Food Diary

From the 10th August 2015, I deiced to keep a food diary and try and write down everything I ate and drank. So far it has gone well, some days I little and other more then I should. Its been really good to see the amounts and what type of foods that I am eating.

Most of them are low GI, but there have been the occasions where I break the rules which have painful consanguineous now.

Like the other day I ate a banana, non-gluten free pizza and some rice, and it had so much stomach crap and pain for two days that I have to stay in bed most of the time.

Even though I haven't been diagnosed to be Gluten Free, seeing as the Low GI diet is mostly cutting out carbs, I call my self Gluten Free.  Yesterday evening I have a Gluten Free Pizza Hut Pizza and it was yummy, not a soft as a normal pizza would have been but wasn't bad, and I have no craps afterwards and fell fine.

Meeting Christian Becker and Krina Zonderva

This morning I met with Christian Becker and Krina Zonderva who both work at the John Raddcliff Hospital, Womens Clinic in Oxford.

I met Christian in person and Krina over Skype. It was really helpful to meet them both and find out more about the research that there doing for Endometriosis.

I am really disappointed in myself, because I did do research in to what they were both doing, but because of my dexlesia, I couldn't remember any of it and the bullet point sheet that I have written up had gone missing and I didn't make a copy because it was hand written. Also when I tried to explain the documentary, if found that really difficult, I can picture the documentary in my head but just cant get out or on paper.

It was really kind of both of them to have taken the time out of there busy morning/schaguals to speak with me, I really do appreciate it.

Christian says hes going to ask one of his patios about maybe me becoming involved with a support group for Endometriosis, which would be fantastic if that did happen.

Thank you Christian (Left) and Krina (Right)

So will see what happens.

A level Documetnary

This is the documentary that I did for my final A level project. The reason that I have uploaded on to my film project blog, because it is something personal again to do with me.

I'm not going to tell you what the documentary is about, that can speak for its self. But the quality of sound is awful. I used final cut pro to edit it.

During the meeting yesterday, Brain mention a journalist called Michael Mosley. Who films a lots of documentaries himself and he is the presenta. Brain made a few point about contacting him and see if he could give me any tips and advice.

I went straight on to google and type in 'Michael Mosley contact details'. A agency email address came up, under the name Sophie Laurimore. I emailed her straight away, she replayed very quickly saying that Mr Mosley wouldn't be able to help me, though maybe Lady Oona King could. Equipment List

Equipment list from Catringc

Above I have create a powerpoint on the equipment I am going to use to make my documetary. I have uploaded the powerpoint to slideshare.

Interview shots for Documentareis

Below is a Youtube video I found of different styles to interview someone for a documentary. Its really helpful as I dont want to interview my interviewees in the same style.

Documentary Styles

Today I have been researching diffrent styles of documetnaries that I could use.

I have found a few  sildeshare power points presentations that I have found very helpful, there is one of them below:

From the research into diffrent styles of documetnaries that I have done, I feel that my documentary 'Diagnosing E' is a style mix between Poetic and Performative with a little bit of Reflective style in there.

Low GI Dite

Since my operation I have to have change my diet. Its a annoying diet because its not 'Gluten Free' or 'Dairy Free'. The Low-GI diet means Low Glycaemic index diet, where I have to eat only center foods.

Here's is some of the foods that I can't eat:

Banana's-One of the all time favorite fruit
Shreddies and Wetabix cearals
Honey
Bread and Bagels
Rice and Ricecakes
All types of Pasta
Bake Potato's

This is a like to a guide: Guide

After being on it these passed few mouths I still find it hard, there's no indication on prepared foods of the GI content and its not like in a restaurant I can be like 'do you have a GI menu' as its unheard of.

I bought myself a guide book for supermarket shopping and what I can eat. I find it really helpful.

Globel Health Film Festival

Last week my older sister who is a junior doctor sent me a link the the London Globe Health Film Festival (GHFF). I have been uming an arring about it for the pass week and just have book a ticket.

I feel that it is important that I go to this event because I want to make my documentary globel to the world and I will me many people through next working networking at the event. Plus I am going to see so many interesting and inspiring films.

The festival runs from Friday 30th October to 31st October. I am going for both days, I had the option to go for one, but I didn't want to miss any of the films.

I have attached two images that give a bit of information about the festival.

This is a like to the website About GHFF

After the festival has finished I will have a lot more to say about it.

Natalia Price

The great thing about living in a house is that when someone comes home drunk and wakes you up and is so loud you cant get back to sleep, so I thought I would do a bit of work, but first of all I check my emails and I was thrilled to see one from my gynecologist Natalia Price.

Her email below with my reply afterwards:

Natalia Price knows Christian Becker well as she works along side him at the JR Hospital in Oxford.

Emails to John Radcliffe Hospital

This morning, I not only spent time reading the guardian but also was sending emails to those researching in to Endometriosis.

As well as Nicola Higgins telling me about the guardian she also gave me the email address for Christian Baker, who is one of the researchers.

This was my email to him this morning:

Only 20 minutes ago I saw that he had replyed with this email below:

I am thrilled that he wants to meet with me to find out more about my project  and it gives me a bust of exictment that maybe things will start to pick up as I have been feeling really down about making this project as no one seems to be getting back to me.

I have just send a reply back to Christian now:

Christian is very effisionet and has reply back along with Susie:

I have a meeting on with Christian on Friday 16th October at 10am in the Women's Center now, yay!!

The Guardian

Today I have spent many hours on the phone trying to talk with people researching Endometriosis and seeing if there is any way that I could come and film and interview them on what there doing.

One of the people that I spoke too Nicola Higgins who works at the Nuffled Hospital in Oxford told me of an articular that was written on Endometriosis by the Guardian.

As soon as our conversation finished is type into google, 'the guardian-endometriosis', the amout of articals that appeared astonished me.

This is the link to the page: Endometriosis-The Guardian

To the left are two of the articals. The last one is by Labour MP Lady Oona King, who I have sent and email too about what I am doing, I'm hoping to hear about for her and maybe there will be a change we can meet and I can interview her on how she has coped with living with Endometriosis.

Symptoms of Endometriosis

I have used a online software program called 'Prezi', I feel is great way to present your work differently then using powerpoint or bullet point lists.

The reason I know of prezi is because I used it during my A level days.

Below I have attached the prezi powerpoint along with a chart of other symptoms.

This list is provide by Endometriosis UK

Spoke to Katy today

I was in a lecture this morning and deiced to check my emails during it and saw that Katy had emailed me again.

The messages below:

Katy did call me after 3pm and we had a really good chat, I wanted to film one of there events which was coming up on 26th September, but because of the short notice I wasn't able too, but Katy told me to get in touch with them in October and she could set up a meeting with Jane for me to have a chat with her.

Also I was looking throw the Endometriosis UK web sit and came across this short documentary on how the charity works.

Katy's reply

Today I heard back from Katy, which was such a relief as I was worried I would never get a reply back and I didn't want to be a pain and carry on sending emails.

I reply back almost straight away.

Endometriosis Information Videos

I went on to Youtube to see if I could find some documentaries on Endometriosis. I came across a few, mostly of the ones I found were produced in America. There interesting with lost of information on Endometriosis and there symptoms but there very lecture like with lost of interviews and not enough footage.

This really helps me with how I want to style my documentary and make it more interesting visually aswell as in facts.

Below are two of the videos I found:

Pitch presentation from Catringc

Above is the pitch that I have done. This is due for Friday 25th September. I find my pitch with a bit too much wording and not enough diagrams, but I'm hoping that as this year goes by I will be able to the words on the pitch into a visual aspect.

Endometriosis UK

This morning I was doing some research into Endometriosis and trying to find helpful information about the disease.

I suddenly came across this charity called 'Endometriosis UK' and there based in London. Link: Endometriosis UK

I was so happy and straight away found there contact number and called them.

I spoke to Katy who is there fundraising and social media assistant, she was so helpful and very up for helping me out with my documentary, she told me how September is a really busy time for as they have many events going on with raising awareness about Endometriosis.

Katy told me to email her more information on what I would like to do with my documentary as she would pass it on to Jane who is the chief executive of the charity.

This is my email that I send to Katy after the phone conversation finished.

Below is a prezi mind map of Katy and I emailing each other back and form today:

Jazz De Lisser

When I was in six form collage, gosh that was 5 years ago, how dose time fly! I studied Film studies at Hampstead Fine Arts, where I learnt about film making and I made a documentary of my passed.

What inspired me to do this was this documentary by a former pupil Jazz De Lisser who has Hepatitis C and her documentary is now used by the NHS to help others with Hepatitis C.

I would like to would really like to create a documentary that can be used to inform women around the world on Endometriosis.

Jazz documentary is less than 7 minutes long, but its interesting, has information and hope and that's what I want my documentary to be.

Second Idea

I was diagnosed with Endometriosis about four months ago.

Endometriosis is a condition where the lining of the wombs tissue is found outside the womb and has spread through out your body.

It is a condition effects many women but is unknown.

I would like to bring more awareness to the disease and make women understand how serious it can be if its left alone.
